Crew Operations Controller

Crew Operations Controller
Company:

Air New Zealand Limited

Details of the offer

Kia ora!
As we connect New Zealanders to each other and New Zealand to the world, the future is only possible by ensuring we have the right people with the right skills, in the right place at the right time. The Regional Airlines Operations Centre based in Christchurch manages the daily flight operations for all the Air New Zealand Regional Airlines' fleets.
We currently have a 12-month fixed term position available as a Crew/Operations Controller to join the high performing team based at the Southern Hub in Christchurch.
In this role, you will be responsible for controlling and co-ordinating flight operations for the Regional Airlines to maintain the integrity of the timetable and minimise the impact of disruptions. You will also be required to carry out Crew Controller duties, interfacing directly with crew to maintain the integrity of the roster on a daily basis.
This is a challenging position where you will often be required to make independent decisions under pressure and need to work as part of a team. The ability to problem solve, have attention to detail, remain calm in pressure situations, and have the ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders is essential to succeed in this role.
Ideally, you will require previous experience as an Operations Controller, including experience with Carina and other crew management computer applications, together with an understanding of airline schedules, CAA rules, and conditions contained in crew employment agreements.
We are on the hunt for individuals with a decisive and self-starting attitude and the energy and mindset to be effective in a very demanding environment. The flexibility to work shift work is essential, which includes weekends and public holidays.
This is an exciting opportunity that will give you significant experience in a unique industry. If you are interested, please apply online via the Air New Zealand Careers site. Advertising closes on Thursday 26th September.
