Crafts Specialist - School

Hohepa is a disability support service in the Hawke's Bay for people with intellectual disabilities. These people are full of life, and you will be helping them to reach their potential! We are looking for a creative artist – in any modality to support our Tamariki/Akonga in developing their motor skills through tactile discovery. You would be specialized in a creative skill to help with expression, dance, art, speech, and experiential learning. You would be creating the foundation for our Tamariki/Akonga in creative practice that could lead to work opportunities for the people we support. This may mean you bringing your carving, weaving, or pottery practice to our school in support of our Tamariki/Akonga. You would be a natural teacher – facilitating learning by leading through doing, being observant and intuitive, genuinely respectful and appreciative of diversity, and being kind, fun, and patient.
