As Court Security Officers, we take pride in serving our community by providing a safe and secure environment for people to gain access to the justice system. We interact, assist, and build relationships with diverse groups of people every day, ensuring our courts operate without fear of intimidation or violence.
Our Court Security Officers are a valued and important part of the Court Justice system. We will ensure you have the training to operate as a Court Security Officer under the Court Security Act 1999 at induction training.

Overview of role:
Welcome and engage with a diverse range of people who enter our courts.
Assess potential health, safety, and security risks and mitigate and respond to incidents as they occur.
Interact with other agencies such as Police and Corrections to ensure smooth court operations.
Patrol public areas, conduct building security checks, respond to duress alarm activations, and identify and respond appropriately to security incidents.
This is a 40-hour-a-week role with some paid overtime available when extra cover is required. You may also be required to work a minimum 3-hour shift on Saturdays.

Excellent level of customer service experience
Ability to work as part of a team
Confident in using technology
Positive mindset and a can-do attitude
Hold a full, clean New Zealand driver's licence and a clean criminal record.

Utu a-tau / Salary
The remuneration band for this role is $58,729 to $80,794; the appointing salary will be based on skills and experience.
