Court Registry Officer Ministry of Justice location Northland. $58,728 – $80,793 per year.
Court Registry Officer - Fixed Term, Full Time - Whangarei District Court. This vacancy is to cover the period from October 2024 to May 2025. Work in a team where you'll support the day to day operations of the court by managing cases and working with different customers. Work with a range of stakeholders who interact with the court. Deliver a service with high accuracy and professionalism. Exercise Deputy Registrar powers.

Your main responsibilities will include:
Court Taking: Facilitating the running of the court, including introducing Judges (in English and Te Reo Maori), working closely with them in the Courtroom and Chambers, managing jurors, and general administration of the court.
Customer Service: Working in the onsite Customer Service area to answer customer queries via face to face, phone, or email interactions.
Case Management: Ensuring files are accurate and up to date, which involves a large component of data entry.

Detail-oriented: The court has many different processes and case information needs to be accurate.
Self-aware: Understanding our customers and confidently working across a range of situations.
Multi-tasking: Managing conflicting priorities and moving from one task to another quickly.
Willing to learn: Adapting to changing legislation and processes in the courts.
Resilient: Working on sensitive cases and sometimes at high volume.
The successful applicant may be required to travel and work in other regional courts. A full clean NZ Drivers licence is required.

Salary: The remuneration band for this role is $58,729 to $80,794. The appointing salary will be based on skills and experience, and we are willing to pay higher in the band to attract strong candidates into this role.
