Te Haeata / The Opportunity
As a Court Registry Officer, you will work with a team responsible for the successful operation of the Court. You will liaise with multiple stakeholders, including defendants, witnesses, family members, lawyers, and police officers.
You will be able to communicate confidently with judges within the courtroom and their chambers, as well as other members of the judiciary.

Te ahuatunga a te turanga / About the Role
Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
Court Taking: Facilitating the running of the court. This includes introducing judges (in English and Te Reo Maori), working closely with them in the courtroom and chambers, managing jurors, and general administration of the court.
Customer Service: All courts have an onsite customer service area that people can access for any court-related matter.
Case Management: Ensuring files are accurate, up to date, and progressing through the justice system. This part of the role involves a large component of data entry.

The successful candidate will need to have the following skills and attributes:
Detail-oriented and observant; the court has many different processes, and case information needs to be accurate.
Self-aware; you'll understand our customers and will be confident working across a range of situations.
Multi-tasking; you'll understand that some of our processes are repetitive, but you'll be able to manage conflicting priorities and move from one task to another quickly.
Willing to learn; legislation and processes in the courts are always changing, and you will be able to adapt and respond to feedback.
Resilience; there are times when working in the courts, you will be working on sensitive cases and sometimes with a high volume of workload.

Utu a-tau / Salary
The remuneration band for this role is $58,729 to $80,794; the appointing salary will be based on skills and experience.
