This service has been co-designed with whanau. As a Counsellor addressing harm from gambling you will provide therapeutic interventions to individuals, whanau members in 1-1 and group setting. You will work with a team of kaimahi who bring Maori Cultural Speciality (Matanga), Kaihapai (Social Support) and Lived Experience. You will work across our Alcohol and Addiction team. This is a community-based service that supports recovery and wellness as described by whanau and may be delievered in a variety of community settingsKia ekena a angitu | To promote success in this role, you will haveA relevant Tertiary Qualification inclusive of Registered Nurse, Allied Health Professional or Counsellor with endorsement to the relevant professional body and or Registration with your professional body and/or DAPAANZ.Have a qualification in a talking therapy /counselling modality.Have proven counselling / therapeutic intervention knowledge skills and application. Commitment to on-going training.Experience or can demonstrate an understanding of Gambling Harm best practice interventions. Experience with working in the Gambling Harm and Alcohol and other Addictions arena.Have a sound understanding of your professional scope of practice and able to work within these parameters.Knowledge of applicable regulations governing clinical practice/legislative compliance.Has a working knowledge of Microsoft products/applications.A working knowledge of a Client Management System is preferred.Understanding of Maori models of health and the application of the Treaty of Waitangi in practice. Experience in applying tikanga Maori as it applies in the role (desirable)A full, clean NZ Driver Licence.This is a real opportunity for you to action meaningful change for your clients/patients and the communities you are working with.
