We are offering an opportunity for a highly self-motivated, qualified Counsellor to join our wider energetic and supportive Social Service team and contribute to and celebrate the positive outcomes for tamariki/children and their whanau/family in our community.
This role can be varied and includes providing counselling services, home, school and office-based support for families – adults and young people.
We are keen to hear from you if you possess the following skills:
Competency and strong relationships skills in working with children, adolescents and their families/whanau and other professionals
Competency in working with child protection issues
Good self-management and time management
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and competent computer skills
Knowledge and a working understanding of mental health issues
A full New Zealand driver's license and use of a car for work purposes
You must be eligible to work in New Zealand. Birthright is committed to the protection of children and young people and the responsibilities outlined in the Children's Act 2014. Birthright undertakes interviews, police vetting, referee checks and risk assessment for all staff recruitment.
