As part of a small close-knit tima (team), located between Otara and MIT Manukau, our centre provides wellness services to our students. Our friendly multi-disciplinary team engages with our tauira (students) through the provision of accessible services.

ResponsibilitiesProviding counselling services to tauira in an appropriate and culturally safe way.Referring and liaising with other health agencies and community services.Assisting MIT staff to identify and manage the needs of at-risk tauira.Assisting with staff development and training in areas of expertise.Working collaboratively and positively within the Student Experience and Success team.Promoting collaborative working relationships with academic departments and Student Support Services.The successful applicant/s will need to be an experienced Counsellor or Psychotherapist with full membership to NZAC, NZCCA, or NZAP, or a graduate with Provisional Membership for the fixed-term role. Ideally, the successful candidates will bring a minimum of a Bachelor's qualification in counselling or psychotherapy with the ability to work independently while also contributing to the wider team.
