Are you an experienced health professional looking for a challenging and rewarding role working with rangatahi?
Matapuna Training Centre is building a proven track record of offering holistic wraparound services for rangatahi that are not engaged in the mainstream education system.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Health Professional to provide in-house counselling and support to our students. We have two positions available, and both may be either full or part-time.
You will be supported by a multidisciplinary team and will take the lead in the delivery of therapy and support plans to help our young people visualize and achieve their full potential. In return, we will actively support you with rewarding mahi within a supportive team, ongoing professional development opportunities, and external supervision.

The successful applicant will have:
An applicable health qualification and at least 2 years of experience.
The flexibility and adaptability to provide counselling services in various environments and circumstances.
A heart for rangatahi and whanau, with an ability to build a professional relationship and rapport by developing trust and perseverance.
Understanding of the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and how these are meaningfully applied in practice.
A track record of practicing culturally responsively in working with diverse ropu such as rangatahi Maori, Pacific youth, LGBTQI*, and other diverse groups.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and be computer literate.
The ability to take professional initiative while working collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
A full New Zealand Driver's License with no restrictions.
New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency at the time of application.
