Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and passionate Cosmetic Scientist/Chemist with a strong understanding of the market and experience in analytical research.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for R&D, analysis, conducting in vivo clinical testing, and analysing data to validate claims.
This role requires a blend of scientific expertise, creativity, and project management skills to drive innovative products from concept to market launch.
Key Responsibilities: Research and Development (R&D): Develop and optimize botanical cosmetic ingredients and prototype formulations Stay up-to-date with the latest scientific research, industry trends, and regulatory requirements to inform product development.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing and regulatory, to align product concepts with consumer needs and compliance standards.Perform analytical testing and reports ( TAC, Polyphenols, UV absorbance…) stability testing, efficacy studies, and other laboratory evaluations to ensure high product quality.Clinical Trials and Testing: Plan and execute in vitro and in vivo clinical trials to support product claims and regulatory submissions (training with in Vivo equipment will be provided if needed).Coordinate with third-party clinical research organisations (CROs) to ensure proper trial setup, subject recruitment, and data collection.Analyse clinical data to validate the efficacy and safety of formulations and present findings to the R&D team in PPT presentations.Prepare clinical reports and documentation for regulatory authorities.Project Management: Manage multiple R&D projects simultaneously, ensuring timelines and budget targets are met.Troubleshoot R&D issues and adjust experimental protocols as necessary.Lead technical presentations to internal teams to communicate scientific findings and development progress.Regulatory Compliance and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of testing procedures and clinical trial data.Qualifications: Master's degree in Cosmetic Science, BioChemistry, Pharmaceutical Science, or a related field.Minimum of 2 years of experience in the cosmetic industry, ideally in product development.Strong understanding of cosmetic formulations, skin physiology, and active ingredient properties.Experience with analytical data, clinical trial design, management.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.Preferred Skills: Experience with natural and sustainable cosmetic ingredients and botanical extractions.Familiarity with software tools for data analysis.Previous experience working in a startup or small company environment is a bonus.Benefits: Competitive salary.Opportunities for career growth and development.Collaborative work culture in an innovative startup environment.How to Apply: Please send your resume and a cover letter detailing your experience in cosmetic R&D and clinical trials to (email protected).
