We offer fully paid training, starting with a one-week induction at Rimutaka Prison, followed by 5 weeks of training at our National Training Centre in Trentham, Wellington, and then 5 weeks back at Rimutaka Prison before graduating. Your learning journey will continue with professional practice and development support, along with a clear pathway to career progression.

This role is based at Rimutaka Prison, Upper Hutt, Wellington. However, you will be assigned to a Wellington Districts contract if you are successful in obtaining a role with us, meaning you could be utilised at either of the two prisons within Wellington.
Starting salary of $65,019.Once in the role you have the opportunity to achieve national qualifications of varying levels which increase your salary. Level 3 ($69,697) and Level 4 ($75,213)
You also receive a Variable Shift Allowance in addition to your salary.
