Ngaa Kawenga| The Role Corrections Officer, He Aapiha Whare Herehere will * AARAHI - supervise people's daily routines * MANAAKI - help people engage in their rehabilitation programme and attend appointments or tangihanga. * WHAKAKIPAKIPA - motivate and inspire people to make positive changes * HAAPAI - monitor and manage health, safety and behaviours. * MAHITAHI - work closely with whaanau and other key stakeholders * MAHI - be able to work 8, 10 or 12 hour shifts Ngaa puukenga me ngaa wheako | Skills and experience If you have the following skills and attributes, then we want you. * Ability to engage with all cultures. * Understand the importance of tikanga and te reo Maaori within our unique settings. * Ability to solve problems and work collaboratively. * A critical thinker, using curiosity and imagination to generate new ideas. * Inspiring others with enthusiasm and a take action approach. * Passionate about supporting people to build confidence, resilience and wellbeing. * Competent using online technology. * Excellent spoken and written communication. To be eligible you need: * The right to work in New Zealand or a work visa with at least 12 months remaining * A full New Zealand Driver Licence (or eligible on a Restricted or International Licence) * To declare any conflicts of interest and previous convictions. Exempt from Clean Slate and all conviction history is released * The ability to pass a drug test * Be medically fit for employment and complete a Medical Assessment and Physical Readiness Assessment. Due to operational and legislative requirements, applications from male candidates will be prioritized to fill current vacancies. Any applications which do not meet this criteria are still accepted but will experience significant delays - we would strongly encourage applicants to consider alternate vacancies at our other sites. Utu Aa-Tau | Salary The starting salary for this role is $65,019. This salary will increase as you achieve national qualifications Level 3 ($69,697) and Level 4 ($75,213).
