We are currently seeking an experienced Corporate Planning Manager in this newly created role. Leading the Project Manager for Corporate Planning, this role reports directly to the Strategy & Democracy General Manager and is responsible for planning and managing the corporate planning processes for the Long-Term Plan (LTP), Annual Plan, and the non-financial components of the Annual Report to ensure council complies with statutory planning requirements and timeframes.
As this is a newly created role, the successful candidate will have experience in these areas and possess great presentation, facilitation, and coordination skills. You bring with you your skills to communicate with many diverse stakeholders effectively and are organised and analytical.
Other responsibilities include: Leadership and support for the Project Manager - Corporate PlanningCoordinating with various teams across the business to analyse submissions received on the LTP and Annual PlanLeading the project working parties and supporting technical work stream to deliver outputs through effective decision-making and teamworkPreparing and delivering reports to Council meetingsSupporting the development, monitoring, and reporting of performance measures in the annual reportMeeting the financial targets agreed in consultation with the General Manager and achieve best value for moneyProviding sound advice on relevant legislation to the General Manager and team members on changes which affects the area of responsibilityRisk reporting - understand and report on project and operational riskContinually monitor and improve systems, methods, efficiency, and the quality of services provided to customersWhat you will bring - the skills and experience required Business related tertiary level qualification5-10 years local council and corporate planning experienceStrong programme management experience leading Local Government Long Term Plan and Annual Plan processes and Annual ReportingProven project management skills - 5 years preferably managerial experienceCoordination, administration, and general planning skillsExcellent analytical skills and understanding of financial reporting systems and requirementsStrong writing skills supporting the ability to deliver effective project plans, proposals, and reportsData capture, record keeping and version control experience and skillsConfident with LGA methodologies and engagement experienceThe ability to lead and facilitate cross-functional project teamsThe ability to develop innovation and practical solutions/plans to meet the needs of the organisationIf this sounds like the role for you, please apply today!
