This is a newly created position with NZ's leading sustainability, materials recovery, and waste management provider.
This role plays an important part in helping them to achieve their goals. As a key member of this 3-person legal team, you will work collaboratively with the Head of Legal to provide legal support to ensure compliance and best practices. This is a fast-paced in-house role where you will work on a diverse range of legal matters. Your day may include general commercial and contractual advice and negotiation, M&A, company and competition law, and some litigation management. Together, you will ensure that all key stakeholders benefit from high-quality legal support as they deliver innovative solutions-based services that move us towards a future low carbon and sustainable circular economy.
Full-time, part-time (4 days per week), or WFH options available.
What We're Looking For A NZ qualified lawyer with a current LPC and intermediate level experience (3 years +)Subject matter expertise in commercial and corporate law complemented by knowledge and experience in one or more of the following areas: company law, M&A, or competition lawA technically excellent lawyer who is approachable, positive, and solutions-focusedAn articulate and confident communicator who enjoys engaging with people at all levels of the businessPragmatic, proactive, and keen to learn, happy to work autonomously but also as part of a supportive teamAbout the Company Waste Management is Aotearoa's leading materials recovery, recycling, and waste management provider, with over 1600 team members across 70 locations.
