Middlemore is the largest hospital operated by Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand. We offer secondary-level (hospital and specialist) care and a selected range of community and domiciliary services for the population of Counties Manukau - the area that stretches from Otahuhu to Port Waikato.
We are seeking a Core Clinician Social Worker to contribute to the provision of client-focused care as part of the interdisciplinary team for clients and their families/whaanau who are in our inpatient Assessment, Treatment and Rehabilitation wards. These wards are within our Adult Rehabilitation and Health of Older People (ARHOP) division and include elderly patients as well as patients undergoing rehabilitation after experiencing a stroke.
To be considered for this position, it is preferable to have experience in assessment, planning, and counselling skills enabling you to work with a diverse client group. It would also be desirable to have an understanding of health and disability issues relating to older people and the services available to them.
