The focus of this role is on coordinating, liaising with, and supporting the various teams of people within the Group Emergency Coordination Centre (ECC) or a local Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) in Waikato Region during a response.
As a CDEM trained volunteer, you could be asked to do a variety of tasks such as write reports, rostering staff, sort and answer emails, manage and communicate requests, data entry, IT support or collate information.
You will receive training in how to work within a response office environment.
The training is interesting and rewarding and will equip you with the knowledge to be effective in your role so that we may call on you to support our Function Managers during a response.
NOTE: Most training and events will happen at our Hamilton office location.

Requirements: We are looking for reliable and trustworthy people who possess personnel management skills, are 18 years of age or older and have a minimum standard of conversational English.

A Ministry of Justice background check is required for this role.
Time commitment: An initial two-hour Q&A information session after office hours to enable you to decide if this is something you are interested in and to meet some of the staff you could be working and training with.
If you are still wanting to join our volunteering team, and once you have completed your application, you would need to complete a two-hour online foundational training followed by a 2 day face-to-face Intermediate training course.
