We are looking for a coolstore supervisor to join our team in Cromwell, Central Otago, for this cherry harvest season which is due to start in December 2024 and finishes in February 2025.
This role will be for a fixed term period of 8-10 weeks.
Full time hours up to six days a week with at least 30 hours work each week.
The position will report to our Inwards/Coolstore Manager.
Applicants must be available for the whole season.
Key tasks and responsibilities: Supervise, train, and support the coolstore team as requiredEnsure coolstore area is organised and operates safely and efficiently e.g.
:product is stacked correctly on assigned palletsallocate correct pallet type to each pack typeSupervise the loading of pallets into trucks from dispatch coolstoreLiaise with inwards/coolstore manager and packhouse manager regarding packing runsMaintain accurate records of shipments, including packing lists and delivery notesMonitor coolstore temperatures to ensure cool stores are operating in the correct temperature range to preserve fruit qualityAdhere to shipping schedules to ensure timely movements/transfers of inventory to meet shipping ordersMaintain high standards of care for fruit while in cool storage to ensure all quality requirements are metEnsure coolstores, yards and loadings bays are safe, clean, tidy, pest free and meet health and safety requirementsEnsure forklift and all other relevant machinery are operated in a safe manner in accordance with health and safety requirementsUse our dispatch software to produce pallet and dispatch information About you: Minimum 4 months experience in a similar role is requiredExperience in working with Radfords - FreshPack is desirableProficiency in operating a forkliftAbility to work well under pressure with outstanding organizational skillsProactive and enthusiastic team playerCapability to lift and move heavy pallets and goodOutstanding verbal skills and confidence to communicate with different peopleAttention to detail and ability to maintain accurate shipment records and documentationGood problem-solving and adaptability skills About us: CentralPac is one of New Zealand's leading cherry packhouses and provides cherry processing and orchard services, located in the heart of Central Otago.
