Coolstore Manager

Management (Manufacturing, Transport & Logistics)Full timeWe have an exciting opportunity for someone to lead our Edgecumbe Coolstore Team to ensure that best practice is achieved safely, in all aspects of our operations.You will be responsible for managing conventional cool storage for all classes of fruit and to ensure orders are prepared in time with correct documentation for loadout, so you will need to have sound knowledge and understanding of temperature cool chain and logistics.Reporting to the Logistics Manager, this is a key role in our site management team, so this person will need to be focused and able to work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to make sound decisions while working under pressure.You will need to have experience in leading and coaching people.
This role will play a pivotal part of creating an environment where staff feel valued and empowered to continuously improve.The successful applicant will also need:Excellent organisational, planning and time management skills.A proactive & positive approach to problem solving.A good level of computer literacy (Excel and Outlook to at least intermediate).The ability to learn systems quickly in order to help drive improvements.A strong awareness and understanding of health and safety to actively promote and drive continuous improvement.Flexibility with days/hours of work, which will include split shifts and working weekends and extended hours during our busy periods.Prior experience within the kiwifruit industry is desirable but not essential.All applications will need to include a detailed cover letter and CV.Please note that we may begin shortlisting as we receive applications.
