About the role: We're looking for an experienced  Cook  to join our team at  Auckland Hospital  in the main kitchen.
This is a  Permanent Full Time  role, rostered across the week (30hrs per week).
The role involves bulk cooking for patient meals in addition to (but not limited to): Assembling and preparing ingredients Preparing dairy, dry goods, fruit and vegetables Preparing meat, seafood and poultry Cooking and serving menu items for food service Portioning and plating of food Establishing and maintain quality control Complete end of service requirements General cleaning duties.
We're looking for applicants who: Have experience working in a commercial hospital kitchen environment Able to work unsupervised when necessary Maintain excellent food preparation and presentation standards Have strong professional written and communication skills Have excellent customer service skills Be reliable and have the ability to adapt and be flexible Have a willingness to learn Are team players Able to handle a fast-paced environment whilst remaining focused Multitask under pressure and have fun doing it!
Be physically fit - as there will be prolonged walking & standing on concrete floors, manual handling, lifting and an awareness of a working in a kitchen and its hazards.
To have knowledge of Health and Safety in the workplace.
