What you will be doing: Consistently offer professional, friendly and proactive guest service and supporting fellow colleaguesAble to interpret a BEO and executeStrong knowledge of quantities needed for service and upcoming volumesCan identify any ergonomic issues or hazards in the kitchen and seek guidance on how to remedyResponsible for checking daily prep lists and supplies to ensure efficient work and recipes are being followedAdaptable to frequent changes due to guest requests or changes to proceduresAssist in the preparation and service of all food items for a la carte and/or buffet menus, according to hotel recipes and standardsKnowledgeable with current allergies/intolerances proceduresMaintain full knowledge of all menu items, daily features and promotionsMaintaining and ordering stocks and suppliesAble to logically work through issues and come up with solutions in a timely mannerActively communicates any deficiencies spotted in the kitchen to supervisor for guidanceEffectively communicates with FOHAdhere to and follow all safety & sanitation policies and proceduresCan work out the ergonomics of line and kitchen flow for food and execution and make necessary changesOther duties as assignedYour experience and skills include: 3rd year Apprentice or Red Seal qualified would be an assetWork experience in different stations of the kitchenKnowledge of preparation and safe food handling proceduresCareer minded individual with ambitions for advancement and passion for learningAble to work in a high-pressure environmentExcellent interpersonal and communication skills; a team playerA valid BC Food Safe certificationVisa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
