What you'll be doing : Reporting to the Manager Capital Works, you will provide leadership to the evolution and development of capability in the areas of procurement, supplier management, and how we contract with third party suppliers.

You will develop and deliver end to end solutions (for people, process and technology) to enable embedding of supply chain leadership across the group.

Based in the heart of Whanganui, this is an exciting opportunity to really make a difference in the community.

Some of the key accountabilities you will be responsible for include :

Developing contract management policies and procedure Providing support and robust advice to contract owners and contractors Contributing to the development of customer focused policies, acting as a customer advocate About you : You will have strong relational and analytical skills able to provide recommendations Well-developed communication and writing skills, with the ability to develop and share information Minimum of 5 years' relevant experience in procurement and or contract management at a senior level, able to build trusting and strong relationships with stakeholders A passion for shaping and creating good advice to positively influence the outcomes of the council A collaborative, innovative and adaptable approach, with the ability to pivot quickly when required and to jump into new challenges as they arise Local or central government experience would be beneficial.
