Contract - Technical Writer

Project background: The workstream has / will create a series of technical documents and system that describe how strategic investment decision are used to create a defined programme of physical activity on the roads, the treatments we expect to use, the budget allocation and forecasting of the programme.
The process and data sources are complex, with multiple sources of data, inputs from other teams, review and trade off discussions to be considered.
The responsibilities of the role will include: Implement standard document formats & document hierarchy (consistent with standard practices) Organise content into a suitable format and style.
Create or amend for consistency illustrations, flow charts , diagrams and procedure charts.
Document complex technical subjects in a way that is easy to understand and easy to navigate.
Maximise the clarity of and impact of written content.
Write, edit or proofread documents under the guidance of the subject matter experts.
Potentially coordinate other technical writers, if we determine in due course that this is necessary to meet time and quality needs.
This is an initial 2 / 3 mth contract.
