The Three Waters unit is responsible for managing the city's water assets, from compliance to incident response to contract management. You will sit within the Service Excellence Team and work closely with operational teams across the unit to support their day-to-day operations.

An opportunity has arisen for a skilled and enthusiastic person to join the team responsible for the delivery of the maintenance contract for the City's water and wastewater network. As a contract supervisor, you will be responsible for managing the contract for the maintenance of the Council's water and wastewater assets. You will work closely with a number of stakeholders including the public and the Council's maintenance contractor. This role will focus on the two waters network and includes responsibilities around pump stations and reservoirs, job approvals and management, contractor management and responses to customer enquiries.

It is important that you have good computer skills and the ability to learn and master new applications quickly. You will also have excellent organisational skills, be able to think logically and be confident in dealing with others. The ability to manage a constant and demanding workload is key while delivering the service in a cost-effective and safe manner. You will also have:
A relevant tertiary qualification such as a Bachelor of Engineering
At least 5 years of experience in a wastewater or water supply related industry
At least 3 years of contract management experience

Hours of work - 37.5 - 40 hours per week Position - Permanent Location - This position is primarily based at Te Hononga, Christchurch City Council Civic Offices - 53 Hereford Street Salary - The salary band for this position goes from $93,200 - $103,556 per annum based on a 40 hour week. Starting salaries will be based on knowledge, skills and experience the successful candidate brings to the role, and relativities both, within the immediate team and in the broader organisation for the same or similar roles.
