You will be working for a well-known and well-respected NZ contractor with offices and projects around the South Island. They have a stable forward workload and are on the lookout for the best civil construction talent to join their high-performing team. This company believes in giving their staff exposure to a range of projects to enable them to diversify and develop their career.
Your new role
This will be a diverse and interesting role based in Oamaru, working on projects in Otago. You will be responsible for all aspects of project delivery from pricing and bidding for work through monitoring and providing guidance to foremen on site. You will have a keen eye for detail and complete QA through the project to ensure a quality job. Projects range from 3 waters, roading, driveways and kerb & channel.
What you'll need to succeed
A tertiary qualification in civil engineering or relevant experience in the civil construction field
Two years of relevant experience in the New Zealand construction industry is a must
Some experience on heavy machinery is advantageous but not a requirement
A desire and hunger to learn and develop
The ability to fit in to a tight-knit team and be versatile
Great communication skills - you will need to be comfortable talking to stakeholders on site
