About Te Pataka Whaioranga Pharmac
At Te Pataka Whaioranga Pharmac, we endeavour to deliver the best health outcomes for all New Zealanders through investment in medicines and medical devices. Through our work on behalf of Aotearoa, we strive to improve equitable health outcomes for Maori and advance Maori health aspirations.
We are a close-knit whanau with around 170 kaimahi. We take pride in what we do, work hard, and have fun along the way. Our values ground our behaviour and guide our thinking:
Whakarongo - we listen with intent and empathy to understand
Tuhono - we connect with people, communities, the health system and each other
Wananga - we draw on evidence and people's experiences to improve
Maia - we challenge ourselves
Kaitiakitanga - we safeguard wellbeing for New Zealanders, now and for the future
About the Role
Our Contract Manager role is focused on monitoring, analysis, and management of the contracts Pharmac has with suppliers for Pharmaceuticals. In addition to the functions associated with Contract Management, you will also act as a subject matter expert and support other members of the team. While Pharmac manages vaccine and medicine, you do not necessarily need to have expertise in these areas, although it would be advantageous.
About You
Are you ready to make a difference? Are you solution-focused and comfortable working in a fluid and sometimes unpredictable environment? Are you motivated by contributing towards the quality of life of all New Zealanders? Ideally, you will have extensive experience managing contracts or supplier relationships. You should also be comfortable dealing with ambiguity and have strong qualitative and quantitative analytical skills.
We are seeking individuals with strong prioritisation skills, confident multi-tasking with the ability to anticipate needs. Another key to being successful in the role is the ability to monitor and analyse supplier reporting and the ability to navigate and adapt to Pharmac systems and processes.
We are seeking applications from people who have:
Extensive experience in contract management or a similar field with transferable skills.
An understanding of the application and management of procurement and contracts processes.
Effective communication and relationship management skills.
Experience in mentoring and supporting team members.
A willingness to learn about medicines, vaccines, and Pharmac.
An ability to manage and monitor multiple priorities and report performance across a portfolio of contracts.
Experience in logistics and supply chain systems.
Who Are You?
In your application, we invite you to share who you are, your personal values, your whakapapa, as well as your interests and motivations in applying for this role. We are interested to learn about your personal attributes, experiences and the diverse perspectives you could bring to the role and Te Pataka Whaioranga.
We acknowledge attributes may extend to having been gained outside of the workforce and encourage you to share these in your application.
