This role is responsible for ensuring all Council owned buildings and facilities are compliant, safe, and well-maintained.
The Contract Manager Building Facilities will manage contractors to ensure work is undertaken as expected, oversee the lifecycle of buildings, and provide advice around activity planning and budgeting for buildings.
Responsibilities will include: Manage the community facilities building asset activities and relevant contractor resources.
Monitor performance of contractors, including conducting audits.
Ensure building-related compliance with legislation, and necessary consents are obtained.
Oversee, develop, and assign tasks to the building asset maintenance officer (direct report).
Prioritize critical work streams and develop work programs with contractors and internal team.
Ensure health and safety standards are maintained in all activities.
Address community feedback and communicate with elected representatives to ensure service levels are met and projects meet community needs.
Our ideal candidate will: Demonstrate knowledge in building/facility legislation and risk management principles.
Have experience in or understanding of the local government context.
Have general management skills including financial management, project management, stakeholder management, and experience in leading others.
Possess excellent written and oral communication, interpersonal, and presenting skills.
Have a proven track record of developing and maintaining professional relationships.
Be committed to continuous learning and development and stay up-to-date with best practices.
