You will lead a high performing team, develop, and enhance strong relationships with clients, and above all you will assist in driving the business forward.The key responsibilities in this role include:Delivery of the contract to an exceptionally high standardReporting to both our clients and Downer management on all aspects of the performanceEnsuring the delivery of activities meet the expectations of our customersManagement of staff and supply chain partners to achieve the best outcomes for Downer and our customersEnsuring the financial health of our contractChampioning excellence, health, and safetyNga pukenga matua | Important SkillsYou'll need to be a collaborative leader who strives for excellence and balances it with your adaptable communication style. You will be a successful people leader with the ability to coach and mentor team members whilst driving operational site work to ensure quality, completion of work to schedule and minimal rework. We'd also value:A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent in engineering (BE or NZCE, or equivalent) and/or at least 5 years project management/engineering experience in asphalt and or sealing operations within the civil construction / road maintenance industry.Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of asphalt or sealing operations will be highly regardedAbility to influence and negotiate effectively with clients and sub-contractorsUnderstanding of financial and accounting processesProven management experience with responsibility and accountability for staff, plant and return on investmentThe ability to think outside the square and be open to new ideasProven track record in developing a culture that supports SQE management, encouraging and rewarding excellenceKo te take ka parekareka e koe ki te mahi ki konei | Why you will enjoy working hereDowner is committed to delivering excellence by ensuring our people have the environment and the means to be successful.
