We're seeking an experienced Contract Management Lead (Principal Contract Facilitator) to take charge of our contract management function within the Infrastructure Directorate. In this role, you will be pivotal in developing, managing, and administering professional services and construction contracts that are critical for delivering our Council's ambitious vertical and horizontal infrastructure capital works.
Be the go-to expert on NZS3910 contracts, driving excellence and delivering trusted guidance for council projects.
You will manage the day-to-day operations of the contract management function, focusing on efficient project support and contract administration services that align with Council strategies and policies. This role demands a commitment to service excellence and a professional approach to maintaining a positive public profile. As a key member of the Programme Delivery team, you'll actively contribute to fostering a strong performance culture and help drive organisational success.
Other responsibilities include: Advise Project Managers on contract decisions, from contract choice and conditions to tender preparation, review, and post-tender negotiation.Oversee contract processes to ensure they are fit for purpose and efficient.Maintain and monitor contract registers for Infrastructure and Programme Delivery.Establish a Contractor Performance Framework to evaluate supplier performance.Ensure adherence to all council policies, legislation, and contract obligations.Serve as the primary operational contact for contract matters within the Infrastructure Directorate.Review and control all contract documentation, including GETS lodgement.Contribute to building a high-performing, customer-focused team.Foster a stakeholder and solutions-focused culture.Support health and safety policies and strategies.Guide Project Coordinators in supporting Infrastructure and Programme Delivery.To be considered for the position you will have: Relevant degree or equivalent knowledge5+ years' experience in managing professional services and physical works contractsStrong understanding of NZ contract documentation (NZS 3910, 3915, 3916, 3917), contract law, and government procurement rulesTechnical knowledge of NZ standards, NZTA specifications, and Local Authority processes for roading, utility, and building projectsExperienced in contract administration and GETSKnowledge of project management frameworks and practices in New ZealandExperience in delivering Local Authority roading, utility, and building projectsStrong written and verbal communication skillsExcellent relationship-building and influencing abilitiesIf you are ready to lead and elevate our contract management function to new heights, apply today!
