The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity for a Contract Finance Manager to join a dynamic, family-owned manufacturing business in a hands-on leadership role, working closely with staff and the directors.

You'll be at the heart of our financial activities, bringing your expertise in production accounting to drive efficiency whilst ensuring accuracy in the numbers and that the Directors have comfort around risk management.

This is a great contract role for an experienced, hands-on finance manager to provide interim support to the business whilst they undertake their process of hiring a permanent staff member.

The Role
As a Contract Finance Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing and overseeing our production accounting functions. Your responsibilities will include:
Analyse and report on production costs, including materials, labour, and overheads, to ensure accurate cost allocation and profitability.
Prepare and review financial statements and reports related to manufacturing operations, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal policies.
Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing insights into cost trends and financial performance.
Oversee inventory accounting, including reconciliation of stock levels, valuation, and addressing any discrepancies.
Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvements within the manufacturing operations.
Work closely with production and operations teams to understand their financial needs and provide support as required.

Your Profile

Proven experience in production accounting or a similar financial role within a manufacturing environment.
Strong understanding of accounting principles, cost accounting, and financial analysis.
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and generate meaningful insights.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail in financial reporting and cost management.
Effective communication skills to collaborate with various departments and present financial information clearly.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and address financial issues proactively.
