About the Role: We have an exciting opportunity for a permanent Consultant Urologist ( 1.0 FTE) to join our experienced team at the Otago Urology Service, based in Dunedin Public Hospital. Our service offers a range of inpatient, outpatient, and community services to patients in the Otago catchment area. You will also have the chance to conduct clinics and perform simple surgeries in other Otago centers like Queenstown, Alexandra, and Oamaru.
Working closely with our urologists, a senior trainee, two junior doctors, and a skilled team of specialist urology nurses, you will provide 1:4 on-call coverage. The urology service at Dunedin Hospital benefits from 24-hour interventional radiology support, full ICU and HDU facilities, and close collaboration with our oncology and nephrology departments.
Dunedin Hospital has a strong partnership with the University of Otago, and part of your role will involve training and teaching medical students. For the right candidate, there is also an opportunity for academic FTE.
The role will have a clinical focus on urology oncology, endourology, laparoscopic procedures, and management of BPE and LUTS.
