We are looking for a Consultant Urologist to join the Surgical Department at Whangarei Hospital, Te Whatu Ora – Te Tai Tokerau. Te Whatu Ora – Te Tai Tokerau (formerly Northland District Health Board) provides public health services across the Northland region, from north of Wellsford to Cape Reinga serving a growing population of 190,000. Whangarei Hospital is the largest hospital in Northland providing secondary care services, supported by three rural hospitals in Kaitaia; Kawakawa, and Dargaville.

We are looking for a skilled SMO to provide safe, efficient and effective urology services to the Northland community. This role is predominantly based in Whangarei; however, it does include occasional travel to rural areas including Kaitaia Hospital on a rostered basis. There is an on-call roster split between consultants and you will also need to participate in the supervision and teaching of resident medical officers within the urology service.

To be considered, you must have or be eligible for specialist/vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand in a Urology vocational scope of practice. For more information about the MCNZ registration process please visit www.mcnz.org.nz.
