We work as a strong MDT within our radiology service, always prioritizing the welfare of our patients and their families. Due to our size and close collegial relationships throughout the hospital, it is common to seek answers in person rather than send emails. You will often receive feedback regarding your patients' progress after they leave your care, which is less common in larger hospitals!About usOur Radiology Service offers a full range of imaging modalities based on digital RIS/PACS systems, including MRI, Interventional, CT, and ultrasound. We do not offer mammography services. This vacancy requires a Radiologist with a general scope of skills, including MRI and CT guided procedures; ultrasound experience is advantageous but not essential. We are flexible and willing to support your special interests. Quality is at the center of our service, and you will participate in quality initiatives as part of your role. We are affiliated with the University of Otago Medical School, and Southland Hospital provides training to Registrars from the Royal Australasian College of Radiologists, so you should be enthusiastic about teaching and passing on your knowledge to junior staff.You must be FRANZCR qualified (or equivalent) and hold, or be eligible for, vocational registration with the Medical Council of NZ.
