The liaison psychiatry team comprises Consultant Psychiatrists, including liaison, addiction, and neuropsychiatry specialists; Nurse Specialists, a Nurse Practitioner, a Clinical Psychologist, a psychiatric registrar, and excellent admin support. We provide teaching and training for Auckland City Hospital and for Auckland Medical School, and supervise registrars and interns.

Te whiwhinga mahi The Opportunity We are seeking a proactive, positive, and enthusiastic consultant psychiatrist for a permanent position in the Liaison Psychiatry team at Auckland City Hospital. The job can be full-time, but less than full-time working could be negotiated for the right candidate.
The job involves providing specialist psychiatric assessment and consultation to inpatients in Auckland City Hospital and patients in the emergency department. There is also scope to get involved in specialist liaison psychiatry outpatient work. The role is paid according to the ASMS Senior Medical and Dental Officer MECA, and benefits are also as per the MECA.

Nga Pukenga Motuhake Important Skills The post would be ideal for Consultation-Liaison or Psychiatry of Old Age advanced certificate holders, but applications from Adult or Addictions Psychiatry certificate holders with relevant experience would be welcomed. You must be registered with the Medical Council of New Zealand with a current Annual Practicing certificate, or eligible for this. You must hold FRANZCP or equivalent.
