About the Role The Mental Health and Addiction Service at Hawke's Bay Fallen Soldiers' Memorial Hospital have an excellent opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist. This is a great opportunity to develop your career, enjoy the benefits of a fantastic region, and achieve a great work-life balance.
About the Team/Service/Location The in-patient unit is on the Regional Hospital campus in Hastings and features high and medium intensity treatment areas as well as an intensive day treatment unit. Local residential addictions treatment service is provided in Napier and an opioid substitution programme is provided in both major population centres.
About you Applicants must be qualified by the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ) and have a (provisional) vocational scope of practice.
You will:
Be able to provide clinical leadership to the multidisciplinary team, with a commitment to continuous quality improvementBe competent with te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo Maori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growthHave experience in projects/initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principles and frameworks, and the application of Matauranga Maori and Kaupapa Maori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.Working for Health New Zealand Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is 'the weaving of wellness'.
