Consultant Psychiatrist - Home Based Treatment TeamAdult Community Mental Health and Addictions Acute Care TeamEmployment Type: Permanent – 0.6 FTEWe are looking for an enthusiastic Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Home-Based Treatment team. This newly created service is an integral part of the Adult Community Mental Health and Addictions Acute care team and wider community mental health services.The Home-Based Treatment Team is based on the premise that for some people their recovery is better enabled by treating them at home in the community they live in, surrounded by the people they are closest to.The primary functions of the Home-based treatment team are to:Provide an alternative to inpatient admission.Provide intensive response to mental health crisis to prevent an inpatient admission.Support an early facilitated discharge from the psychiatric inpatient unit.Provide intensive support in a community setting, while mental health crisis resolves.In this role you will be providing high quality assessment and treatment services within a multidisciplinary acute care team. The role requires someone who can work from a collaborative model with Tangata Whaiora and encourage the involvement of whanau in the care of Tangata Whaiora.The Home-Based Treatment Psychiatrist appointed to this role will have the opportunity to live and work in the beautiful Bay of Plenty and shape the future of local services. There is support for academic interests and a strong clinical community. If you like to work in a team that puts the client and their family/whanau at the centre, and is collaborative, creative and collegial, please consider this your next job.This is a permanent 0.6FTE part-time position, working 48 hours per fortnight.Criteria for this position:You need to be a Vocationally Registered Psychiatrist with the Medical Council of NZ or be eligible for this.Expert clinical experience and knowledge.Fellowship of RANZCP or the equivalent is essential.Applying from overseas?
