We provide a range of high-quality therapeutic programmes with a strong multi-disciplinary focus. The community mental health teams provide a comprehensive range of therapeutic treatment options in collaboration with service users, their families/whanau, and local communities. This is achieved through the assessment and management of the complex health needs of service users, with the provision of effectively planned, episodic care that supports them to manage their overall healthcare needs along with home-based treatment options available.
We encourage and support the development of leadership skills in our Consultant Psychiatrists and there will be opportunities to apply for formal leadership positions.
To be successful in this role you will be vocationally registered with the Medical Council of New Zealand with a current Practising Certificate or be eligible for registration (Please note, if you are an overseas specialist, you will be required to provide source verification of your qualifications for your registration application). You will also have experience and interest in providing a high-quality service to service users experiencing moderate to severe mental ill-health in a community setting, and a commitment to achieving equitable outcomes for Maori is essential in this role. You will also hold a full and clean driver's license as this role involves some community work.
