The role can be based in Rotorua or Taupo and clinics are offered at both sites.We are embedding our new model of care Te Ara Tauwhirotanga: pathways that lead us to act with kindness.
Te Ara Tauwhirotanga is the product of extensive co-design with over 400 participants from the Lakes community, a model that clearly articulates what works for people in their recovery and healing journey.The successful candidate will have:A broad range of general psychiatric skillsHold or be eligible for Vocational Registration as a Child Psychiatrist with Medical Council of NZEnjoy teaching – Rotorua is a teaching hospital with 4th, 5th and 6th year medical students as well as registrars training for fellowship with the RANZCPThe role:Busy role with a broad variety of Child & Adolescent psychiatry1:6 on call rosterKo wai matou / Who we areThe Lakes District serves a population of just over 118,000 and covers 9,570 square kilometres.
It stretches from Mourea in the north to Mangakino in the west, down to Turangi in the south and across to Kaingaroa village in the east.
The major centres of population are Rotorua and Taupo where two hospitals are based.
