The Mental Health, Addiction and Intellectual Disability Service (MHAIDS) serves the lower North Island of New Zealand - Wairarapa, Hutt Valley and Capital and Coast, and includes local, regional, and national services.
Our adult community mental health services support people with moderate to severe mental health difficulties from the ages of 18-65. We offer a mix of rural and urban services. Each service has its own unique characteristics, driven by the community it is based in and the clients it supports.
We work in multidisciplinary teams, including psychologists, social workers, nurses, and occupational therapists, and provide consistently high standards of care to adult patients. We strive to provide a supportive, flexible working environment for all our staff. MHAIDS is committed to upholding the principles of Te Tiriti O Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi) at all levels of our services.
