We have a flexible structure whereby the role will be based with the Lakes Opioid Treatment Service as well as General Adult Psychiatry (with an addictions focus) and may rotate to in-patient or other community positions over time. The role is based in Rotorua but includes clinic days at the satellite office in Taupo. The role has a strong focus on forging relationships and working closely with the Lakes addictions partners, Manaaki Ora (Rotorua) and arc Counselling services (Southern Lakes).

The successful candidate will have: A broad range of general psychiatric skills, with specific experience in AddictionsHold or be eligible for Vocational Registration with Medical Council of NZEnjoy teaching – Rotorua is a teaching hospital with 4th, 5th and 6th year medical students as well as registrars training for fellowship with the RANZCPMembership with NAOTP or equivalent preferredThe role: Busy role with a broad variety of addictions and general psychiatry1:6 on call rosterKo wai matou / Who we are Lakes serves a population of just over 118,000 and covers 9,570 square kilometres. It stretches from Mourea in the north to Mangakino in the west, down to Turangi in the south and across to Kaingaroa village in the east. The major centres of population are Rotorua and Taupo where two hospitals are based. Lakes District boundaries take in the two main iwi groups of Te Arawa and Ngati Tuwharetoa.
