The role is based at Wellington Regional Hospital; however, the successful candidate will be expected to work across the greater Wellington region in line with a current change to establish a sub-regional ENT service.The position will involve a range of acute and elective general ORL surgery.
Applications from post-fellow or experienced surgeons with a sub-specialty area of interest, particularly in Otology, are welcomed.Some undergraduate teaching is expected, as well as supervision and teaching of registrars in the otolaryngology training rotation.The department currently consists of ten general and subspecialist surgeons who provide a wide range of services to the greater Wellington region and tertiary level care for the wider region.
Current recruitment to the sub-regional service will see the team increase to 11 surgeons.These include general otolaryngology, rhinology and anterior skull base surgery, otology, lateral skull base and acoustic neuroma surgery, cochlear implantation, paediatric otolaryngology, and head and neck surgery.
We work in close collaboration with oncology, neurosurgery, plastic surgery, paediatric and neurosurgery services.
