Are you an Oral and Maxillofacial specialist looking for a great balance of interesting work and excellent lifestyle?This is anexcitingopportunity to apply for a permanent positionin a stunning area of New Zealand with a Mediterranean climate.

The localhealth sector is undergoinginnovativeexpansion and modification with new public and private operating theatresandother facilities under construction. Youwill be part of acollaborativeteam within the head and neck serviceprovidinghigh quality care,improvingequity and health outcomes for the local population, with a highMaori and Pasifika population. The team is supported by a registrar, a house officer and a clinical speciality nurse and moving forward an additional registered nurse to support. The department is well equipped for all aspects of modern head and neck health care.

This is a truly general Maxillofacial position, where the full scope of the specialty is practised. A significant part of the work load involves head and neck oncology including skin cancer, congenital and acquired facial deformity and minor oral surgery. There are opportunities to develop subspecialist interests that will complement the department's current service and close ties with allied health departments, other specialities, as well as regional and tertiary services to provide a comprehensive package of care.The department also provides medical education for undergraduate students and postgraduates.

This job is based in a 400 bed hospital, a modern facility with a large range of surgical, medical, oncology and radiological services.As a Maxillofacial specialist you will be supported by a managerial structure invested in providing support for you and new technologies.

The possibilities for private practice are some of the best in New Zealand, with the current maxillofacial surgeon having a very large head and neck and skin referral base, along with a thriving dentoalveolar surgery practice.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES Lead and improve the quality of Oral and Maxillofacial services provided to patientsIncrease the range of Oral and Maxillofacial services available to the populationEvaluate the quality of Oral and Maxillofacial services offeredDeliver high-quality, safe, efficient and effective acute, elective, inpatient and outpatient Oral and Maxillofacial care. This will involve conducting clinics, ward reviews and surgical lists.Participate in an oncall roster and support other team membersROLE REQUIREMENTS
