Health New Zealand Te Whatu Ora, Nelson Marlborough seeks two experienced Ophthalmologists to join the Ophthalmology department.
2x Permanent part-time 0.7-0.8FTE (56-64 hours a fortnight) On-call allowance Cover District Wide, Nelson Marlborough regions. Benefits of this position: The salary for this position is based on the current Senior Medical and Dental Officer collective agreement dependent on skills, experience, and vocational registration in NZ. Responsibilities: Deliver quality services to improve health of the population in Nelson Marlborough District. Participate in the Ophthalmology roster with on-call. Be part of the busy contemporary ophthalmology service and provide a wide range of general ophthalmology care, supported by a multidisciplinary team. Supervise and participate in teaching of junior medical workforce. Minimum Requirements: Bring their medical expertise and experience to improve health in Nelson Marlborough District. Ability to work independently as a specialist in a provincial district. Hold Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists or equivalent. Be eligible for an Annual Practising Certificate with a vocational scope of Ophthalmology with the Medical Council of New Zealand. Have strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
