About the Consultant Neonatologist role
Wellington Neonatal Intensive Care Unit is looking for a fixed term Neonatologist to join the team until September 2025.
We are one of the biggest NICUs in NZ, with a fantastic, multidisciplinary team who value collaboration in a friendly, fun and supportive environment.
Wellington NICU is a 40 cot unit, with close to 1000 admissions per year, providing intensive care for medical and surgical infants from central New Zealand.
We run a busy neonatal retrieval service, with the majority of transports via air.
We have a strong emphasis on practicing and contributing to international best practice. Huge value has always been placed on having the very best, modern equipment and resources.
It certainly makes working here very satisfying!
Our team thrives on collaboration across the disciplines. We work together to stay up to date with current practice with constant quality initiatives providing a dynamic and progressive work place.
As a Neonatal Consultant at Wellington hospital, you would help to be part of this leadership group, bringing the team along with you.

Mou About you

Vocationally registered in Paediatrics (Neonatal-Perinatal medicine) with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ)
FRACP or equivalent qualification and be able to register for vocational registration with the MCNZ
Work in collaboration with multidisciplinary team
Able to provide consistently high standards of medical care
Relevant experience and training

We operate three hospitals: Regional Hospital in Newtown, Hospital and Kenepuru Hospital, as well as the Health Centre at Paraparaumu.
