Seeking a consultant interventional radiologist for a full-time permanent position with a regional general hospital developing its radiology services.Position HighlightsPremier public sector hospital, 360 beds, level 2 hospital.Radiology department has interventional/fluoroscopy, Ultrasound, CT, General X-Ray services, and a private MRI facility operational onsite.The service has 4 general rooms (includes 1 room in the Emergency Department), 1 Toshiba and 1 Siemens CT scanner, 5 ultrasound machines, and a Siemens angiography/fluoroscopy suite.Radiology team comprises 21 Radiologists (4 Interventional Radiologists), 6 Registrars, MITs, administration, orderlies, and nurses.Interventional work includes a wide range of Vascular, Oncology, and General IR procedures.Endovascular aortic aneurysm repairs are performed in conjunction with the Vascular service.Interventional Oncology procedures performed include trans-arterial embolisation and percutaneous ablation.Contribute to the general radiology component and general out of hours roster with overnight reporting provided by teleradiology services.Located in a region with an excellent lifestyle, native bush, beautiful lakes and rivers, unique geothermal landscapes, and some of the best mountain biking and walking/running trails in NZ.Professional RequirementsMedical Degree recognised by WHO.FRANZCR or equivalent specialist qualification.Training in interventional radiology.Registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand, or be eligible for vocational or provisional vocational registration.BenefitsSalary ASMS scale plus allowances.6 weeks annual leave.Tailored wellness programmes (Fitness passport; gym membership and discounted health insurance).SMASCH Staff Discount (Retail discounts).Superannuation 6%.Study leave 10 days and NZD 16,000 pa.Relocation package.Reimbursement of medical licence costs.How to ApplyIf you meet the requirements listed above and are looking for an exciting new challenge in public healthcare, we invite you to apply.
