Te Whatu Ora – Health New Zealand, Nelson Marlborough seeks an experienced Haematologist to join the dynamic Haematology/Oncology department.

Permanent part-time 0.8FTE (64 hours fortnightly) to full time 1.0FTE (80 hours fortnightly)

The Nelson Marlborough region, located at the summit of the South Island in Aotearoa, New Zealand, is spectacular. It is a great place to live for both work and leisure.
Te Whatu Ora, Nelson Marlborough has approximately 3000 employees, providing health services in the Nelson, Tasman, and Marlborough regions, serving almost 150,000 people. Facilities at Nelson Marlborough include four hospitals (Nelson, Wairau, Alexander, and Murchison Hospitals), a district-wide public health service, and four community health centres located in Richmond, Marlborough, Motueka, and Golden Bay.

The salary for this position is based on the current Senior Medical and Dental Officer collective agreement dependent on skills, experience, and vocational registration in NZ.
In addition to your salary, you will:

Have access to an employer matched Superannuation contribution of up to 6% of annual earnings.

The successful applicant will:

Provide expert diagnosis, treatment, and management of haematological conditions for patients in the Nelson Marlborough Region.
Lead and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans and quality services to improve the health of the population in Nelson Marlborough.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and research to advance haematological care.
Contribute to the education and training of our growing junior medical workforce.

The ideal applicant will:

Have an FRACP with subspecialist training recognised by the Haematology Society.
Be eligible for an Annual Practising Certificate and vocational scope of Internal Medicine - Haematology with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
May be at the beginning of their career looking to a role that grows with them.
Be looking to work independently as a consultant Haematologist in a provincial hospital.
Demonstrate experience in diagnosing and managing a wide range of haematological conditions.
Have strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Demonstrate commitment to continuing professional development and quality improvement.
