Consultant Gastroenterologist - Fixed Term

Health New Zealand Te Whatu Ora, Nelson Marlborough seeks an experienced Gastroenterologist or dual trained Physician-Gastroenterologist to cover sabbatical leave for 6 months.

Fixed term full time 1.0 FTE (80 hours fortnightly)

Benefits of this position: The salary for this position is based on the current Senior Medical and Dental Officer collective agreement dependent on skills, experience, and vocational registration in NZ.

Work with a supportive multidisciplinary team.
Deliver quality services to improve the health of the population in Nelson.
Participate in the general medicine acute roster.
Teach and develop our growing junior medical workforce.
Actively contribute to the critical design of our newly approved 225 clinical services block.

Who is an appropriate applicant? The ideal applicant will:

Be able to work independently as a consultant in a provincial hospital.
Have a background in General Medicine (preferred) as this will allow you to contribute to our acute roster and run outpatient clinics in gastroenterology and endoscopy.
Have specialist accreditation in gastroenterology recognised by the NZ Gastroenterology Society.
Hold Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians or equivalent.
Be eligible for an Annual Practising Certificate and vocational scope of Internal Medicine / Rural Hospital Medicine with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
Work with others to promote a cohesive team culture of collaborative practice, openness, humour, and respect across disciplines.
Demonstrate commitment to continuing medical education and professional development.
