Surgical Pathology in a tertiary hospital laboratory
Seeking a consultant in anatomical pathology for a full time, permanent job in a tertiary hospital in New Zealand's largest city and commercial capital, Auckland.
Position Highlights
Surgical Pathology Unit provides the histology and cytology services to two hospitals and Breast Screening programs in Auckland.
IANZ accredited, well equipped department processes approximately 57,000 specimens from 30,000 patients per year from a range of specialties including, but not limited to, gastroenterology, breast, gynaecology, genito-urinary, skin and head and neck.
Path lab is staffed by 12 FTE specialist Anatomical Pathologists working as generalists with areas of subspecialist interest.
Department participates in the registrar rotation for the Auckland training scheme.
Experience in cytopathology is desired.
Professional Requirements
Medical degree and FRCPA or equivalent specialist qualification.
Eligible for vocational or provisional vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
Should have experience in cytopathology.
Salary and Benefits Package
Competitive remuneration package based upon level of experience and qualifications comprising basic salary and allowances NZD 200,000 - 350,000 PA based upon ASMS agreement.
Refund of medical practice expenses.
Superannuation 6%.
6 weeks annual leave.
Study leave 10 days and NZD 16k pa.
