Korero mo te turanga - About the role
We are welcoming applications for a Specialist Anaesthetist (SMO) to join the Department of Anaesthesia and Critical Care at Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora Taranaki. Our team currently comprises of 27 specialist anaesthetists, 1 fellow and 7 registrars.
The department supports a range of clinical services including anaesthesia, peri-operative and pain medicine, and intensive care. The Department has a strong commitment to excellence in clinical, education, quality, and research activities, and has a significant interest in development of processes of care.
Mou - About you
We are looking for someone that:

Has a positive, enthusiastic, team-orientated personality with a strong interest in innovation and development of services and models of care.
Is patient-focused in the provision of high quality clinical care.
Will facilitate and promote a co-operative, multi-disciplinary team approach to all aspects of the service.
Will contribute to and value teaching/training at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Will be actively involved in and supportive of research activities within the department.
Maximises the efficient use of Te Whatu Ora Taranaki Health resources, to provide optimum care to all patients.
Contributes to audit and other departmental maintenance of standards processes.
Exhibit behaviours that demonstrate respect for colleagues and facilitate good communication within the department and with other departments.
Participates in the afterhours on-call roster.
