Korero mo te turanga – About the role
We are looking for a Consultant Addiction Specialist at our Tuhonohono Addiction Services. The role involves working closely with case managers and other staff within the service to ensure collaborative care. The Consultant is responsible for liaison and support of primary care providers as well as NGO partners. The role also entails supporting the medical development of this service and liaising with other services/hospital departments as required.
Tuhonohono Addiction Services (Community Alcohol and Drug Service, Opioid Treatment Service, provision of the Managed Withdrawal Service and Co-Existing Disorder Service) is a multidisciplinary team comprising of nurses, social workers, occupational therapists, specialist medical staff, and administration staff. We are a collective of skilled professionals that value working in a client and whanau centred manner, including cultural and community connections, to deliver high quality services to those we work with.
Mou – About you

Vocationally registered with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ)
Hold Fellowship in Addiction Speciality or Fellowship with medical college and be able to register for vocational registration with the MCNZ
Or Hold Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrist (FRANZCP)
Faculty of the chapter of Addiction Medicine can be entered through a number of training pathways (including General Practice)
Work in collaboration with multidisciplinary team
Able to provide consistently high standards of medical care
Relevant experience and training
