Description
We're looking for a Consultant Addiction Specialist at our Tuhonohono Addiction Services.
The role involves working closely with case managers and other staff within the service to ensure collaborative care.
You're also responsible for liaison and support of primary care providers as well as NGO partners.
You'll support the medical development of this service and liaising with other services/hospital departments.
Minimum Requirements Vocationally registered with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ)
Hold Fellowship in Addiction Specialty or Fellowship with medical college and be able to register for vocational registration with the MCNZ
Or hold a Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP)
Faculty of the chapter of Addiction Medicine can be entered through several training pathways (including General Practice)
Work in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team
Able to provide consistently high standards of medical care
Relevant experience and training
Tuhonohono Addiction Services (Community Alcohol and Drug Service, Opioid Treatment Service, provision of the Managed Withdrawal Service and Co-Existing Disorder Service) is a multidisciplinary team comprising of nurses, social workers, occupational therapists, specialist medical staff, and administration staff.

The Mental Health, Addiction and Intellectual Disability Service (MHAIDS) spans three DHBs - Wairarapa, Hutt Valley, and Capital and Coast DHBs and includes local, regional, and national services. Capital, Coast and Hutt Valley district is located centrally in Wellington and has over 6,000 full-time equivalent staff.
